Description

ToolShed Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator)

This professional-grade welding helmet is next level when it comes to protecting yourself from the hazards of welding. It is certified to Australian and New Zealand safety standards and is the best option to protect yourself from the harmful ARC rays that can burn eyes and skin, and also protection from the destructive vapours, fumes, and gasses that are now becoming increasingly bad for your health.

This helmet is suitable for ARC, MIG, and TIG welding, plus plasma cutting and grinding as your go-to for any kind of fabrication work. The helmet itself is made of lightweight and flexible nylon to avoid breakage and not weigh you down after use for extended periods. The helmet has soft padded headbands that are adjustable three ways, so it contours to your head perfectly and distributes the weight evenly. It is fitted with a large 98mm X 55mm True Colour Viewing Lens which has a perfect optical clarity rating of 1/1/1/1 which will minimise blurriness and distortion, while always providing the correct lighting for any job you are doing. One dial on the left of the helmet contains the 'Grind' setting which turns off the auto-darkening feature suitable for grinding work, and it controls the shade range with settings from DIN 5-13 to cover all types of welding needs. The dial on the right of the helmet controls the Auto-darkening sensitivity to accommodate ambient lighting at your work site whether it be indoors or out. It also has a Delay Control button to adjust the time between the lens darkening and lightening.

The Powered Air Purifying Respirator aspect of this welding helmet is becoming more popular in the New Zealand market and a game changer when it comes to protecting your health in a welding environment. With more concern being raised around the quality of air control around welding, the battery operated PAPR system uses a fan to deliver air filtered through a 0.3 micron HEPA Filter which is worn on your hips with a comfortable and adjustable waistband. The PAPR system will buzz and beep to alert you if there is any loss of airflow to the helmet, or if the system has a low battery.

With two air flow options, 4-6 hours run time, and a switch time of 1/30000 seconds from light to dark, this professional grade welding helmet offers all the protection needed when it comes to heavy-duty welding. The helmet and PAPR set up, along with replacement filters and glass, all comes in a stylish Nylon carry bag with one external zipped pocket, two internal pockets, and one big clam shell pocket protected with double zips and a Velcro type opening. The carry bag features four plastic feet at the bottom with a water-resistant coating, it also features a shoulder strap, two carry straps, as well as a carry handle to ensure the safest transport of your gear.
