    Well worth getting

    I really enjoy using this little lathe. While it's quite small, it's easily big enough for most tasks. It runs well, and I'll probably end up buying the extension for longer jobs.

    When loosening the bolt that moves the motor for gear changes it requires the use of a hex key. I replaced this bolt with a quick-release handle similar to what is used elsewhere on the lathe.

    Lastly, the bolt at the back of the lathe that supports the motor seems to vibrate loose, I fixed this with a little locktite.

    Not a toy!

    Love it!

    Bought mine almost 3 years ago as a companion to my larger lathe – I wanted to run some smaller projects at a faster speed and this was the most cost effective way of doing that. Married it with a compact direct threaded Nova Midi Precision chuck which matched the capabilities of this lathe and could also use the jaws from my other chuck.

    It’s become my go to lathe.

    The thing I most love about it is how easy it is to work around the smaller headstock. Using an Allen key to change the motor speed is a bit fiddly so I changed that for a cam lever like you find on a bike.

    Perfect for beginners and occasional use for more advanced

    Well made, good size and great value for money. So far it has done all that has been asked of it. Easy to set up, adjust and clean. Not too many accessories are available in NZ from what I can see, however. Maybe someone will bring some into the country, as this lathe is sold internationally in the brand of the retailer in that country.
